The Faculty of Health Sciences is committed to lifelong learning and training high quality professionals in areas of health care provision and social care systems. During the training, the Faculty places an important emphasis on integration and inclusion and strives to develop appropriate attitudes in the students towards people with disabilities.
This pursuit is reflected in the knowledge content of the training programs (Recreational Organizers, Disabled Sports, Nurses - Special Education, Public Health Inspectorates: Child and Youth Health, etc.), and also in the practices gaining personal experiences with vulnerable people.
The annual Professional Day offers an excellent opportunity for students of the Recreation and Health/Sports and Recreation Bachelor's programs to meet high-performance people with disabilities, e.g. athletes, dedicated staff members of disability aid organizations (e.g. Hold My Hands Foundation, Baranya County Disabled People's Organization).
The College for Advanced Studies of Health Sciences aims to help the students in acquiring key skills and competencies that will enable them to be trustworthy, person-centred practitioner, working as part of a team to deliver high-quality, ethical and non-discriminatory care to patients/clients, disabled or not.
The College organised extremely successful international programs in the previous years such as debates and interactive events titled "Can You Live Happily as a Disabled Person?", "Disability and Sport" and "Tolerance Learning - Desired and Expected Treatment of Deprived Groups" and an international evening called "The Lifestyle of Different Nations, Religions (Cook it, Taste it!)".
